Hands-on learning with fire extinguishers & fire blankets
Under professional guidance, employees gained a solid introduction to the basics of firefighting. The focus was not only on theory, but above all on practical training. Each participant had the opportunity to use a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket to extinguish a fire themselves. These exercises provided valuable confidence in handling the devices, which must be applied quickly and effectively in emergencies. A fire extinguisher is only effective when used correctly – and that is exactly what was practiced. «At first I was a little nervous, but after the first exercise I felt more confident,» said one employee. «Now I know how to react if a fire really breaks out.»
Safety as part of Company Culture
At Gsell, the safety of employees and the protection of infrastructure are top priorities. Prevention and awareness are key elements. Through regular training, the company ensures that employees not only have theoretical knowledge but are also able to act decisively in emergencies. While fires cannot always be prevented, their spread and consequences can be limited. Knowing how to react correctly can make a decisive difference in protecting lives and minimizing damage.
Strengthening team spirit
In addition to the safety aspect, the training also had a positive side effect: it strengthened team spirit. Participating together in such a practical and important exercise promoted cohesion and awareness of one another. «It's a good feeling to know that we are prepared as a team,» one participant noted. In an emergency, it is important that everyone pulls together and supports each other.
A strong signal inside and out
With this training, Gsell is sending a clear message: safety cannot be taken for granted – it is the result of preparation and part of the company’s responsibility toward employees, customers, and partners. The company consciously invests in preventive measures to be prepared for all eventualities. «The health and safety of our employees are our top priority,» explained Marcel Lüthi, Safety officer (SiBe). «With this training, we want to ensure that everyone knows what to do in an emergency. This way, we can not only limit damage but above all protect people.» The positive feedback from participants confirms the success of the training. Many employees expressed that they now feel significantly better prepared and can act with more calm and clarity in an emergency.
With this firefighting training, Gsell demonstrates that prevention is the best investment in safety – and that safety is a team effort.
