Engineering a Greener Future –
 Sustainability at Gsell

Owning our responsibility – shaping a sustainable future. Sustainability is not a short-term response to external expectations, but an expression of our inner conviction. We take responsibility: through our daily actions we make a tangible contribution to a future-oriented development – for our employees, our customers and for the environment.

EnGAGEMENT AT GSELL – Sustainability GOALS

We focus on the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):

  • Affordable and Clean Energy
  • Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
  • Responsible Consumption and Production
  • Climate Action

Path Forward – Where do we want to go?

  • The waste heat generated by our compressed-air systems will soon be fed into the heating system via heat recovery modules. This will significantly reduce heating oil consumption – up to 74% of the heating demand can be covered by reclaimed heat.

  • In additional production areas, waste heat from the machining equipment will be discharged directly in the future. This reduces cooling requirements while improving air quality in the workspace.

  • Expanding our photovoltaic capacity represents another milestone and an important step toward
    greater energy autonomy.

FORESIGHT – CO2-neutral By 2030

Gsell aims to become largely CO2-neutral in the long term – not through compensation, but through technical and organisational improvements. Together with our team, we are shaping a sustainable future one step at a time.

‘Sustainability begins in our daily Actions.’

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENERGY & RESOURCES

We deliberately rely on renewable energy sources: Gsell uses 100% electricity from sustainable sources and thanks to its own photovoltaic system, produces around 15% of its electricity needs in-house.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PEOPLE

Our employees are at the center of everything we do. We offer fair wages, strong social benefits and a culture of mutual respect. Supporting the growth of young talent is especially important to us: New team members are gradually introduced to our high technical standards – hands-on, guided and with a clear focus on continuous learning.

WASTE SEPARATION & RECYCLING

We rely on a consistent waste separation system and work with a certified waste management company. Materials such as cardboard, wood, carbon offcuts, thermoplastic polymers as well as steel and aluminum are collected separately and either professionally recycled or used for energy recovery. Recycling is an integral part of our culture – every team member actively contributes to the responsible use of resources.

Sustainable infrastructure

We rely on modern, energy-efficient infrastructure: A heating, cooling and ventilation system with heat recovery, a continuously modernized machine fleet with robotics, intelligent compressed-air management and a digital, flexible IT environment all contribute to efficient, future-ready processes.

How Does Our Infrastructure Contribute to Energy Efficiency?

Heating, Ventilation and Cooling
Our production building is equipped with a modern heating, cooling and ventilation system featuring a reversible heat pump. At low temperatures, the system enables free cooling. A highly efficient heat recovery unit uses up to 80% of the exhaust air heat to warm the supply air, significantly reducing overall energy demand.

Machinery

We continuously modernise our machinery. When purchasing new equipment, we consider technical, qualitative and environmental criteria. Wherever possible, palletising or articulated robots are used to automate processes and ensure energy-efficient operation.

Compressed Air Control
Intelligent control systems measure the actual compressed air requirements and regulate the even, energy-optimised operation of the compressors.

Digital Infrastructure

Our IT landscape is also continuously evolving. Modern hardware and software solutions support connected, flexible workflows. Mobile devices enable location-independent work and foster digital collaboration across departments.
